Restoration: Magni Australia
First series Magni Australia
We've got another very rare and spectacular offer for you: A first series Magni Australia -the road legal racebike of the 90's-! This bike is one of approximately 55 first series Magni Australia units ever produced (in total 150 Magni Australia bikes were built divided into two series). These bikes were hand built by Arturo Magni -former chief of MV Augusta Racing Divison and responsible for 75 World championships- and make use of Moto Guzzi 8-valve power plants. This specific series is equiped with the unique, chromemolybdenum frame which was developed and produced by Arturo Magni himself and has no additional air inlets in the front fairing. It is one of the most sought after and hard to find bikes in the world. Especially in this condition!
Although the bike was in pretty good condition for starters, We decided to take it apart to the last bolt and nut and to completely rebuild it to the highest standard possible. A bike like this deserves it! A known problem with this specific Moto Guzzi 8-valve engine series is the underpowered and qualitatively bad oil pump, which we've swapped for the new and improved, chain driven Moto Guzzi MGS-01 oil pump. Next to this modification we've rebuilt the bike using only the best quality parts available. The engine, gear box and end drive have completely been overhauled. The brake system, suspension and all electronics were inspected and rebuilt. The frame and almost all other parts have been powder coated and repainted. Off course, all bearings, seals, gaskets and fluids are new. To finish it off, we've fitted the road legal version of the Michelin Pilot One tyres.
This bike is as good as it can get and a true collector's item! It has a Dutch, first registration with only one owner from new. No damage history. All numbers matching; frame, engine and fairing parts as well! The paintwork on the fairing and seat has not been touched and is the original paintwork which it left the factory with! You can even see the fingerprints of Arturo Magni in the original paint!
We have made an extensive picture report of the work that has been done to this bike. Starting with the before pictures, taking it apart, and finally the different stages of rebuilding it.
It is a once in a lifetime opportunity and if you're into extemely rare and classic race bikes; don't miss out!!!
